Adéńiyì Allen-Taylor

Adéńiyì Allen-Taylor is a Nigerian-Irish musician, songwriter, and saxophonist based in the Republic of Ireland. He is widely recognized by his stage name, "Allen," and is known for his exceptional talent and versatility as a multi-instrumentalist. Allen's passion for music has led him to master a diverse range of instruments, including the keyboard, drums, guitars, percussion, and saxophone.

Allen is the founder and serves as the music director of the African Gospel Choir Dublin. He was previously a member of the renowned Oleku Band, an Afrobeat/Highlife musical ensemble based in Ireland. Currently, he performs under the professional name Adéńiyì Allen-Taylor or Adéńiyì Allen-Taylor and his Afrobeat Orchestra. Allen commenced his musical journey as a church keyboardist at the Glad Tiding Assembly situated in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. Subsequently, in the year 2000, Allen relocated to Dublin, where he diligently pursued his academic endeavors and successfully obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia. Following this accomplishment, he embarked on the realization of his long-cherished aspiration in the realm of music.

In 2009, the Ọba Ńlá Concert was established by Allen with the aim of showcasing Gospel Music within an African context. This initiative has been instrumental in elevating African traditional Gospel music to new heights in Ireland.

Allen has performed at various concerts and shows, including the Ethno Funk Festival in Hungary, Bray Summerfest, Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures, Galway Ocean Race World Festival, Africa Day celebrations in Cork, Cork City Multicultural Day, St Patrick's Annual Festival, and RTE TV Sunday Service. He also performed at Afrogospel Festivals in Germany, Gospel-Afrika in Germany, Mela 2017 in Belfast, and the Buzz Music Festival in the UK. Allen was interviewed on RTE Nationwide in April 2011 as part of the Oleku band's international trip to Eger in Hungary.

Allen is happily married to Tomilola, and they are blessed with three children, Iteoluwakiishi, Oluwakamiyefore, and Ilerioluwakiiye.
